Creating Active Engagement in Your Teacher Preparation Programs Through CIDDL Resources

In a previous blog post, we explored ways you could utilize the plethora of resources on the CIDDL website to support pre-service teacher education courses. In this blog post, we will explore how faculty can use the CIDDL resources to increase their own capacity to use technology in their practice. 

As CIDDL’s mission is to improve faculty capacity to use educational technology in special education, early intervention, related services preparation, and leadership personnel preparation programs, the resources on our website are designed with intention. CIDDL’s resources are provided with multiple means of representation in mind, as some are provided via print (blogs and research-to-practice brief narratives) and others via video, both live and recorded. Our videos include research-to-practice briefs (recorded interviews with researchers), webinars, and cizzles (gamified professional development relating emerging and innovative topics in educational technology to recipes). Finally, our community is a private discussion board where stakeholders can share their thoughts, ask questions, and learn from peers. 

In the next section, you will find the CIDDL Scavenger Hunt Activity. This scavenger hunt is designed to be used by higher education faculty interested in learning more about using technology in their practice. Across the top (horizontal or x-axis), are the various types of resources CIDDL offers. Going down (vertical or y-axis), are some of the series and topics CIDDL has discussed in-depth. It is important to note that CIDDL is constantly adding more resources to support innovative, new, and emerging technology. New information is added to the site weekly.
